Just two weeks before our Henry was due to be born, we heard the heartbreaking words that no parent should ever hear, "there is no heartbeat".
Words that completely shattered our entire world, words that are stuck in our minds forever.
The hours, days and weeks that followed were unimaginable. Each day brought its own heartbreak. We watched our daughter meet her little brother, what should have been the beginning of a lifetime together. We cuddled our boy for the last time, still unrealistically wondering if he was going to wake up. Then we came home, waking up each day to the painful reality that this wasn’t just a nightmare. And now, three months on, we’re watching everyone’s lives around us move on, yet we still feel frozen in time, and the heartbreak just as raw.
We may never know how, or why this happened, which is something that we have had to learn to accept.
More often than not, stillbirth and baby loss are treated as unspoken topics. The world doesn’t know how to navigate this kind of grief yet. This needs to change.
Speaking about our babies who are no longer with us can be hard, but silence feels heavier because their lives deserve to be remembered and honoured.

We will be raising money for Red Nose and raising awareness for stillbirth and SIDS. Evey day in Australia, 6 babies are stillborn and 2 die within 28 days of birth. Red Nose fund research into SIDS and stillbirth, and provide free support to grieving families.
Red Nose has provided our family with a huge amount of support. Their support as we continue to navigate this journey is something we’ll always be grateful for.
