I have created this fundraising page in honour of my precious Billie, who we said goodbye to almost a year ago. As her anniversary approaches, I will be walking 85km over that weekend in her memory.
After losing Billie, the Red Nose Hospital to Home program became a lifeline for me. When my whole world felt like it had shattered, they stepped in compassionately. My counsellor, who is also a bereaved mother, made me feel seen, understood and validated in the complexity of my grief. I didn’t have to explain the unexplainable to her, she just knew. In a time when I felt so lost and broken, her understanding and kindness was everything.
I have also leaned on the Red Nose 24/7 Support Line to support me through some incredibly challenging moments. Having someone at the end of the phone who truly understood and could help me navigate the hardest days of my life meant so much to me.
Red Nose provide this support at no cost to families across Australia. They ensure that no bereaved parent has to walk this unbearable path alone, whether through immediate crisis support, ongoing counselling, support groups or remembrance services.
Every dollar raised helps keep these vital services free and available to any family who needs them, for as long as they need them.
