In Honour of Luca
Family and Friends, firstly thank you to all of those who supported me raise over $7000 for SIDS AND KIDS as I completed my Mudgee marathon last year.
A challenge I did not think I was capable of completing but with your support and having my family by my side I finished in 4 hours and 12 mins…
So many words of inspiration and friends who reached out to me and supported me throughout my entire journey and I am truly so grateful.
It was one of the greatest challenges I've had to overcome but it taught me that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it.
This year I’ve decided to step it up and along some of my great friends, I have committed to the Oxfam Trailwalk in August.
My team and I will embark on an epic journey through the Australian bush to overcome an extraordinary challenge together. we are challenging ourselves to walk 100km in less than 40 hours.
I will be training hard… as this life-changing walk can lead to life-changing work for people all over the world.
I have always liked to challenge myself and I have no doubt that this will stretch me to my absolute limits but I am committed to taking this head on !
I experience a sense of gratitude and appreciation for everything that happens around me and it open my eyes to how to be a better person everyday. I have taken on this challenge in faith, and I am a strong believer that challenges are the only way to growth and it’s only after you’ve stepped well outside your comfort zone that you begin to change, grow and transform.
My inspiration on this challenge will again be my Angel Luca, who is flying in Heaven.. we lost Luca to SIDS the age of 3 months and I would do anything to see him again or give him a hug..
Leading up to Red Nose Day this year I’ve decided to set a goal where I can raise money for to support this amazing foundation and do what we can to help in anyway to hopefully one day find the answer that so many people are looking for to reduce any chance of this unknown cause that takes away children who we love the most.. we raised $7000 last year which has made a huge difference in so many people’s lives and has helped take us one step further in finding out the cause of why so many little ones leave us too soon ❤️🙏
Luca is going to be on my mind for the entire duration and together we hope to make a difference.
