Yarning about Safe Sleep

Join proud Wergaia and Wemba Wemba woman Skye Stewart and Arrente/Aranbunna woman, Cherisse Buzzacott at this special Safe Sleep Week event especially for First Nations Family. Skye and Cherisse will explore the Safe Sleep Guidelines with First Nations Families.

Skye has a long-standing history of working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and is passionate about improving health equity and outcomes for mob through nurturing safe communities and safe environments for our people to thrive in.

Cherisse is a member of our National Scientific Advisory Group. She is a midwife who works for the Australian College of Midwives leading the Birthing on Country (BoC) Project, a national project aimed at implementing Aboriginal models of care. The aim is to restore current maternity care services in collaboration with Aboriginal women; ensuring the provision of culturally safe care to women and families.
